Ever feel like your day starts well, but then by 3:00 you’re ready to plop down on the couch and pass out? We’ve been there. But it’s easy to avoid this trap simply by eating the right snacks throughout the day.

4: Smoothies

Smoothies are easy to make at home and bring in a thermos to store in the fridge in your office. You can make them out of anything that will blend! Depending on what your other fitness goals are, you can concoct smoothies that will help you lose weight, gain weight, or boost energy. Here’s a few of our favorite energy boosting smoothies!

3: Yogurt with Berries and Nuts

A major key to staying satisfied through the afternoon is to add some protein to your snacks! A great way to do this is to have some greek yogurt and mix in some berries and some nuts or seeds for healthy fats.

2: Trail Mix

A handful of healthy trail mix with a good blend of protein-filled nuts and complex carbs like lentils or all-bran cereal can pack a powerful punch of calories to give your mind a mid-morning or afternoon boost without caffeine.

1: Hummus and Veggie Sticks

Carrots, celery, fresh peppers. Easy to prepare and can quickly be thrown into a container or plastic baggie for transportation. The garbanzo beans and sesame in hummus make it a great snack full of protein and good fats. Your local super market probably has quite a few varieties of hummus to choose from, but our favorite has to be this delicious black bean variety that you can make yourself!
